What’s Your Why

What is your why

Why do you do what you do? It is a simple question, but most people don’t even know how to answer it. Too many people in today’s world are simply going through the motions never giving 100% at what they do. What a boring, average and sad way to live life!!!

People without a reason for doing something are like chickens running around with their heads cut off. They struggle to find a purpose and a direction to move in. Your why has to be deep. It has to pull on your heartstrings and push you to get out of bed in the mornings. If your why is not meaningful to you then it will not drive you when you are struggling and wanting to quit. One of my whys is to retire my parents before they turn 60. I have a couple years left. How many people in their mid twenties are able to retire their parents? Not many, it is a difficult feat. But nothing can stop me because my why burns deep.

No one wants to be average or go through the motions, even if someone says they are content with being mediocre they don’t truly mean it deep down. It is not the way God created us to live. If you feel as though you have been going through the motions for too long and want to start giving each task throughout your day your very best, do this…

Ask yourself right now. What is my why? What drives me? Why do I do what I do? Think about it. It may come to you in ten seconds or it may take you a few days to really ponder your why. Once you come up with the answer write it down immediately. Now everyday for the rest of your life, when things get tough and you want to slack off or quit, pull out that piece of paper from your pocket, look at it and remember WHY you are doing what you do.

Greatness is in everyone, it is just that some are more driven to give their all because they know their WHY!
